Our Story

The history of Richardson Funeral Home, Inc., dates back to 1959 when Alex Richardson, Sr. with his supporting wife, Melissa at his side, decided in the late 1950's early 1960's to open his own funeral home and insurance agency in Amite, LA. Alex started the business with the simple idea of providing personal as well as professional service to the families of Amite, Hammond, and all surrounding areas in Louisiana. During the lifetime of Rev. and Mrs. Alex Richardson, Sr., they worked very hard to establish a business that they would be proud of and a business that would serve the people for generations to come. As Alex and Melissa served the families they also found great spiritual joy. They believed a Life with Christ surpassed all other things.

Richardson Funeral Home, Inc. aims to provide personalized service options that allow you to honor your loved ones in a way that is both meaningful and healing. We aim to provide support and care while delivering memorial services that celebrate life and help families find the peace they deserve. We also aim to serve our families of the community with Dignity, Compassion, and Excellence.

In return, through the years the people of this area have been very faithful to Richardson Funeral Home, Inc. and we Thank You and we are praying for our families of the community.
