Mr. William "Peco" Dawson, Jr. was born April 2, 1961 to the late William and Ruby Jackson Dawson. He departed this life on September 25, 2020 at Colfax Reunion Nursing Home in Colfax, LA.
Mr. Dawson attended John Eret High School in Marrero, Louisiana. He was baptized at Nineveh Baptist Church in River Ridge, Louisiana under the leadership of Rev. Wilker Neal. After living in Louisiana many years, Mr. Dawson decided he needed a new beginning. He felt in his heart that Jackson, Mississippi was the place to begin anew.
He leaves to cherish his memories, 1 son: William Batiste of LA; 3 brothers: Larry Dawson, Corneal Dawson and Terry Dawson of LA; 3 grandchildren; 1 sister: Joella Dawson of LA; 8 aunts: Ora Dawson, Kentwood, LA, Linda (Donald) Ramsey, Ponchatoula, LA, Elizabeth (Willie) White, Magnolia, MS, Ellen Cooper, Ruth Melburne, Ernestine Brown, Martha Jackson, and Edith Jackson all of LA; 2 uncles: Edward Dawson, Kentwood, LA, & Louis Jones, Ponchatoula, LA; 3 great aunts: Caretha Carter, Lillian Womack, & Brenda Henderson all of LA.
He was preceded in death by his son: Willis Batiste, his loving parents, his grandparents: Merritt and Corine Dawson, & Rev. and Mrs. Ernest Jackson, 2 aunts: Susie Varnado and Mary Jackson, 4 uncles: Theodore "Man Bates" Dawson, Melvin P. Dawson, Leon Fields, Jr. and Ernest "June" Jackson, Jr.
