Tewana Elaine Coleman Dyson was born to the union of the late Albert Ray "Fritz" Coleman and Yvonne Smith Coleman on April 30 ^th , 1958, in Independence, Louisiana.  She was the oldest of three children born to this union.  She was a lifelong member of Grant Chapel AME Church in Amite, Louisiana where she served in various roles such as class leader, choir member, and stewardess.  She accepted Christ and devoted her time and talent to working as a servant of the church.  Eventually rearing her own children there as well.

Tewana departed this life on May 23, 2021 at North Oak Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana after a courageous battle with COVID-19.

She leaves to cherish her memories…her mother, Yvonne S. Coleman; her husband, then life-mate, Reginald Dyson of Roseland, LA; her daughter, Khristie Landrew (Kedrian) of Independence, LA; two sons, Antonio Dyson (LaToya) and Matthias Dyson (Cassandra) of Hammond, LA; one sister, Sally Cowan (Olin) of Alexandria, LA.  She was blessed with seven grandchildren whom she loved and cherished, Antonio Dyson, Jr., Deston Dyson, Aquila Dyson, Knyla Landrew, Khyra Landrew, Mattelyn Dyson, and Matthias Dyson, Jr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Xavier Smith, Sr. (Daisy) and Henry James Coleman (Henrietta), her father, Albert Ray "Fritz" Coleman and her sister, Sandra Dee Coleman.
