For everything under the heaven, there is a time. A time to be born and on January 1, 1955. God sent his angel, Linda. This angel would go on to be the tenth child of Rev. Leo and Everline Smith, at an early age, Linda was united with Mt. Teamer Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J.O. Banks, Rev. Leo Smith, Rev. Melvin Baker, & Rev. Daron Brumfield, and remained a faithful member. She graduated from Independence Girls' High School in 1973; Southeastern Louisiana University with an associates and bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice; and a Nursing certification from Louisiana Technical College in Greensburg, LA. She was employed in the medical field from 1996-2021 at North Oaks Medical Center.

She was united in holy wedlock to the late Eddie Varnado of Magnolia, MS.

There is a time to die, and on August 16, 2021, Linda transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home. Cherishing the memories of her beautiful Life: her two daughters: Lakeisha of Independence, LA and Angela of Shreveport, LA; Once son: Demuntre (Rhoda) of Arlington, TX; One grandson: Javien of Independence, LA; One sister: Debra (Bradney) McCormick of Fortworth, TX; Three brothers: Leo (Margaret) of Newport News, VA, Joseph (Ada) of Palestine, TX; and Rev. Roy Smith of Arlington, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.
