On February 11, 2022 Lillie Mae Brumfield (Ouchie) departed this
life for her heavenly home. She was born April 29, 1940, reared by
Henry & Mary Hookfin and James Brumfield. She attended OW
Dillon and went on to Greensburg Trade School. She gave her life
to the Lord and was a member of Orange Grove Church of God in
Christ where she served as treasurer, following in the footsteps of
her mother. She was the mother of seven boys to whom she
dedicated her time and love. She was a long-time employee of
Sanderson Farms until the untimely accident that paralyzed her
son, Eric. She dedicated her life to caring for him until her health
began to fail.
Today we will celebrate her life and how much of a blessing she
was in our lives and all who met her. She was the oldest in our
closely knit family and we will sorely miss her. We will miss her
quick wit and smart mouthed comebacks. She never ended her
calls without saying "love you".
Ouchie leaves to cherish her memories her children Gary,
Kenneth, Karl Sr., (Charlotte), Vincent (Joanna), Rodrick Sr.
(Relarry), and Eric Brumfield; sisters, Juanita Hookfin Johnson,
Henrietta Hookfin Jackson, Ruby Hookfin, Lessie Hookfin, Mary
Hookfin Soniat, Antoinette Hookfin Brown (Bobby), Janice
Brumfield, Lavern Brumfield Dokes, Cora Brumfield Alexander;
brothers Henry Hookfin Sr., Paul Hookfin, Ivy Hookfin, Melvin
Hudson, and James Brumfield Jr.; grandchildren, Kimberly
Burton, Bobby Earl Holmes, Elissa and Kemarte' Brown, Princess
Magee, Marco Dillon, LaBria and Karl Brumfield Jr., Ebony
Magee, Vincent, Lakoshia, and Deonte Brumfield, Lamarkus,
Nakia, and Ambrial Miller, Israel and Isaac Brumfield, Tareek
Robbins, Rodrick II, and Layla Brumfield. She leaves to cherish
her memories a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Bobby, siblings
Gloria and Patricia Hookfin, Charles, Tony Lee, Leroy, Larry, and
Isabell Brumfield Courtney.
