Jacqueline Thomas Handy, 64, transitioned from this life on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born on July 11, 1954 in Baton Rouge, LA. Reared in Morganza, LA, Jackie was a graduate of Morganza High School in 1972. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Jackie was an educator in both Pointe Coupee Parish and Ascension Parish School Systems for over 30 years. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Alton and Dorothy Ricard Jones; father, Loran Thomas; two brothers, Alton Jones Jr. and Eric Jones; and three aunts, Helen Lee, Elsie Lee and Jenette Hughes. Jackie leaves to cherish her three sons, Gregory Handy, Jr. (Misty), Gerard and Gavin Handy; six sisters, Gloria Thomas Scott, Linda Thomas Brooks, Cherryl Thomas Bentley (Craig), Janice Guillory (Rayphille), Cindy Chenevert (Perry) and Joyce Matthews (Donaray); seven grandchildren, 2 aunts, 5 uncles, her beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 10AM at Fellowship Church. Visitation is Monday, October 22, 2018 at 4PM to 8PM at Fellowship Church, 14363 Hwy 73, Prairieville, LA. Interment: Old St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery, Batchelor, LA.
