Obituary

Ivey Jackson was born April 2, 1950 to Rose Mae "Raye" Pope Jackson and Ivy B. Jackson.

Ivey was educated in the Tangipahoa Parish schools attending Big Zion and West Side High School in Amite.

Ivey loved his family and church, New Home Church of God in Christ of Tangipahoa, where he faithfully attended until his health would not allow. He enjoyed people, his circle of friends, family, and community. Ivey was a vibrant and well-known person; and loved by many.

Ivey provided for his family through many diligent years of working. He was employed with Cavenham Forest Industry/Weyerhouser Lumber Yard for 24 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 51 years, Diane McGee Jackson, Ivy (Alon) Frazier, Toriano Jackson, Rechard (China) Jackson, Jamar Jackson, Alisa (Columbus) Tassin, Carolyn Pound, 15 grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and host of Nieces, Nephews, and other family members.

Ivey was proceeded in death by his parents Rose mae Pope Jackson and Ivy B. Jackson; his daughter, Razlion Jackson-Nichols, two brothers; Sam Jackson and Otis Jackson Sr.; three sisters; Loreta J. Anderson, Dorothy Mae J. Miskel, and Idella Margarite Jackson; and one granddaughter, Shanta Nichols.
