Hazel Mae Vining
was born to the union of Luther Vining and Alma Brooks Vining on May 26, 1936 in Independence, LA. She was the first born of eight children. She departed this life on February 6, 2020.
She was educated in the St. Helena Parish Public School System and graduated in 1957. Hazel relocated to New Orleans, LA and began a very productive career in the secretarial field. She ended her career when she retired from the Sewage and Water Board.
Hazel was reared in a Christian home. She was blessed to become the mother of one (1) daughter, Linda Vining Montgomery.
Although she lived in New Orleans for most of her adult life, she relocated to Amite, LA after Hurricane Katrina.
Hazel leaves to cherish precious memories of her life, her daughter, Linda Vining Montgomery of Amite, LA; son-in-law, Henry Montgomery of Amite, LA; one grandson, Christopher Vining of Dallas, TX; granddaughter-in-law, LaQuita Vining of Dallas, TX; three (3) sisters: Laera (Sampson) Johnson of Amite, LA, Mary Ann Zanders of Lafayette, LA, and Marilyn Jackson of Roseland, LA; three (3) grandchildren; one (1) great grandchild; one special friend, Patsy Dupree; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Alma Vining; two (2) sisters, Lula Harris and Ollie Vining; two (2) brothers, James and Frank Vining.
