Freddie Gibson, Ill was born May 8, 1956, at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence, La. to the late Lucille Chandler Gibson and the late Freddie
Gibson, Jr. He was the oldest of eight siblings. Freddie resided in Kentwood, La. all of his life and was a humble, kindhearted and
family-oriented man who showed love toward his family and friends. He departed this life on June 18, 2024, at LSU Lallie Kemp Medical Center in
Independence, La. Freddie was baptized at an early age at the Quinn Chapel AME Church of Tangipahoa, La. Freddie attended O.W. Dillon Elementary School and Kentwood
High School in Kentwood, La. as part of the Class of 1975. Freddie worked offshore for many years and worked at the Steel Mill in Roseland,
La. for some time and also Jam's Fried Chicken in Kentwood, La.
He leaves to cherish his memories: 3 loving daughters: Joyce Cooper and Fredricka
Cooper both of Kentwood, La. and Xayla McGee of Amite, La. 3 stepchildren: Charles (Deborah) Cooper, James Diamond, and Michelle (Terrell) Hookfin all of Kentwood, La. 4 grandchildren: Jay, Missy, Sharria, and Brandon. 1 great grandchild: De Mir Diamond. 4 sisters: Debra Ray) Wesby, Annette Gibson, Antoinette Gibson, and Sherry Gibson all of Kentwood, La. 3 brothers: Reggie (Cynthia) Gibson of Kentwood, Ronnie (Rosie) Gibson of Kentwood, and Donald (Pam) Gibson of Atlanta, Ga. 1 Aunt: Rosa Lee Pool of Tangipahoa, La. A loving special friend, Norma Jean Diamond of Kentwood, La. for over 30 years and the mother of two of his children (Joyce and Fredricka). Other special friends and as brothers, Robert Nunnery, Jerry Diamond, and Lonnie Charles McGhee.
A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Freddie Gibson Jr. and Mrs. Lucille Chandler Gibson, Grandparents, 5 uncles, 3 aunts, 1 niece, and 3 nephews.
