Ella Mae Hampton-McGee was born on October 9, 1938, to the union of Lee and Mary Brumfield Hampton in Kentwood, La. She have her life to Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Bladesville Church of God in Christ in Kentwood, La. She attended school at Westside in Amite La. She was joined in marriage to Jordan McGee Jr and to this union  six children were born, two boys and four girls. She worked at Peds Sewing Factory in Independence, La and Hampton Auto Shop in New Orleans.

Mother Ella had strong faith and was always willing to help others. She was very easy to love because she showed godly love to every one she met. She loved to cook and give food to others. She made the best red beans around and she enjoyed getting compliments on her food. Mother was a faithful member of Emmanuel Community Church in Amite, La. Pastor Rodney Harrell and First Lady Sonya Harrell.

She leaves to cherish her memories Jerome (Janice) Greensburg, La; Cynthia (Frederick) Independence, La; Danny (Lessie) Hammond, La; Josephine Amite, La; Vanessa (Danny) Independence, La; son-n-law Levi Independence, La; a special son Eddie Braziel (Betty) Bogalousa, La; and one sister Augustine Hampton New Orleans, La. 15 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
