Mr. Earlie Edward "Didiwah" Cooksey passed away on November 29, 2021 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La at the age of 86. He was born in Webster County, MS on August 20, 1935 to the late William Edward Cooksey and Willie Mae Mcgaughy-Cooksey.
Earlie was a resident of Roseland, La for 45 years. He was a jack of all trades but his primary job was master carpenter in the general contracting business.
He's preceded In death by his mother and father, three brothers, & two sisters: Chester Lee "CL" Cooksey, Lonnie Joseph "LJ" Cooksey, William Elvis "WE" Cooksey, Edith Elizabeth "Edie" McKee, & Nora Lee Newcomb; His first wife: Linda Nell Tyson-Cooksey, and grandson: Jaccob Daniel Cooksey .
He's survived by his wife of 11 years: Robin Marie LaBlanc-Cooksey; one son: Eddie Eugene "Gene" Cooksey; Sister: Ruby Alyne King of Roseland, LA; step daughters: Canidia and Bianca; Grandchildren: Chastity Cassidy, Sammantha Ryan (Blake), Erin Zachary (Rachel), & Jessica Heather (Bradley). Great Grandchildren: Rowan Justice, Weston Zachery, Bradly Lewis, Carter Rose, Kolsyn Kane, & Thomas Edward Augustus. All of Amite, LA and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Interment will immediately follow the religious services at Roseland Arcola Cemetery in Roseland, La.
