Donald
Brown
Nov 19, 1956 — Aug 26, 2019
Amite
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4;6-8
Donald Brown was born to the union of Mamie and Robert Brown on November 19, 1956 in Independence, Louisiana. He departed this life on Monday, August 26, 2019.
Donald attended West Side Elementary and Amite High School. He was an honor student and had exceptional athletic abilities. He was chosen to be a part of the Junior Olympic team while attending high school. He was involved in both basketball and football. He excelled in both sports and academics. He received an athletic scholarship to Xavier University. After completing a year at Xavier, he chose to further his education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. He loved his alma mater.
Donald's life in Christ started at a very early age. He was baptized at Little Bethel Baptist Church in Amite, La., under the leadership of Rev. Willard Vernon. Donald was active in Sunday School and sang in the church choir.
Donald was always a very happy, loving brother who always had a kind word to speak to others. He was very complimentary; making sure everyone around him felt encouraged and loved in some special way. He had a keen sense of humor and was definitely a sports enthusiast.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three brothers, his twin, Ronald Brown; Tommy Lee Brown (Luberta) all of Amite, LA; Robert D. Brown (MaryAnn) of Terrell, TX; three sisters, Ora D. Williams of Angie, LA; Eloise Brown-Marshall of Chicago, IL, and Elaine Brown of New Orleans, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Mamie Brown; a brother, Ernest C. Brown as well as a sister, Annie B. Sam.
