Ron Christopher Jackson, the proud son of Nora and Hosea Jackson, was born January 13, 1970 in Independence, Louisiana. Ron graduated from Amite High School in 1988. After graduating, he then went on to continue his at Southeastern Louisiana University,

During an early age he professed his faith in Christ. Ron joined Grant's Chapel AME Church under the leadership of the late Rev. David Boyles. He participated in the youth people department and Sunday school.

As a high school student Ron became very interested in being a coach. He was the scorekeeper for the Amite School Warriors basketball team. This was the beginning of his journey on the road to becoming Coach Ron.

Coach Ron was a dedicated employee of the Tangipahoa Parish School System for over 25 years. Coach Ron Coaching journey started at West Side Middle School in 1989, by helping others that loved the same game that he did.  He later became the Head Boys Basketball Coach and the Assistant Football & Track Coach. While coaching at West side Middle, Coach Ron won numerous tournaments and district titles.  In 2008, Coach Ron transferred to Amite High but still carried his duties as a Coach at West Side Middle.  In 2015, Coach Ron became the Assistant Girls Basketball coach. In 2022, he assisted the Lady Warriors to win a State Championship Titles and in 2023 he was also part of the Lady Warrior State Runner-up.The love he displayed for his family, students, and community was immeasurable. In 1990, Coach Ron was one of the founders for the Amite Area Bitty Basketball Association. After founding this wonderful organization, he then Coached teams and also was a referee.

In addition, the student athletes he coached have made significant impact in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Football League.

On Wednesday evening, Coach Ron and our lord savior decided that it was time to rest.  Coach Ron leaves to cherish his memories, Nora(mother), Amite LA; two brothers, Ronnie (Wanda) Jackson and Jimmy Jackson both of Baton Rouge,LA; three sisters, Dr. Jackie Leathers of Douglasville, GA; Terrie Jackson of Lake Charles,LA; and Karnisha Jackson of Amite, LA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,cousins,friends, and the Warrior Nation. He was preceded in death by his father Hosea Jackson, faternal and maternal grandparents.
