In the early morning hours of July 3, 2020, the Angels of the Lord were sent to bring home his devoted servant home, Clara Mae Travis Williams, affectionately known as "Clar Mae." Clara Mae Travis Williams was born to the late Charlie and Martha Spears Travis December 17, 1943 in Liberty, Mississippi. She was married to the late Jeffro Royce Williams in Montpelier, LA in 1966. Together, they raised four girls.

She accepted Christ at age five at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Norwood, LA under the leadership of Reverend Sterling Collins. She attended Eight Ward Elementary School and East High School in East Feliciana Parish. Throughout her life, she worked as a cashier at Schweggman's and Check-in Check-out and as a housekeeper at Gateway Hotel, Bethany Retirement Home, Ramada Inn, and Ferncrest Nursing Home—all in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area. As a mother, she was actively involved in the education of her children and was always known by teachers, principals, and office staff.

She leaves to celebrate her life her four daughters: Merdis Marie Williams of New Orleans, LA; Elizabeth Williams of Montpelier, LA; Velvet Denise Tripps (Albert) of Montpelier, LA; and Henrietta Williams Pichon (Tyrone) of Las Cruces, NM. Three grandchildren (Jonathan Williams, Victoria Williams, and Valencia Tripps) and a great grandson (Christopher Taylor Self, Jr.). Nine brothers and sisters: Will Henry Travis, Sr. of Kenner, LA; Edward Travis (Felicia) of Upper Marlboro, MD; Samual Travis, Sr. (Essie) of Kenner, LA; LK Travis (Laurie) of Montpelier, LA; Elnora Pikes (Caleb) of Montpelier, LA; Estella Ursin (James) of LaPlace, LA; Charlie Travis, Jr. of Montpelier, LA; Sylana Travis of Folsom, LA, and Lawrence Travis (Carolyn) of Amite, LA.. Three in-laws: Ronald Donald (Minnie) of Millry, Alabama, Mellida Lewis of Montpelier, LA; and Truncy Lewis of Montpelier, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister (Florence) and brother (Louis).

A Visitation is scheduled Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 10am to 11am and Funeral services to be held at 11am at First United Church of God in Christ Outreach in Amite, La.
