SANDRA MARIE ATKINS APPLEBERRY
Sandra Marie Atkins Appleberry was born on April 28 , 1955 in Independence , LA to the union of the late Joseph Atkins and Gertrude Brumfield Bailey . Sandra accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Big Creek A.M.E. church . Sandra received her education at O.W. Dillon and L.B. Landry High School .
Her most precious joys in life was the birth of her children Leonard and Latasha . She was a proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren who affectionately call her Madea
Sandra rededicated her life in 1985 and was led to Holy Ghost Revival Healing and Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Pastor Betty Hunter .
Her " YES " to God resulted in her entire family developing a relationship with Christ.
In 1990 , Sandra was ordained and sent forth to evangelize the world under the Leadership of Apostle Lloyd Benson of World Outreach Ministries of Baton Rouge , LA . Evangelist Sandra traveled extensively across the country .
Her travels led to Crossett , AR where she met Constance
Smith who became the first member of the ministry team that many came to know as " Birthing Your Purpose " . The trajectory of her life changed in 1992 after coming under the leadership of Dr. Myles Monroe of Nassau , Bahamas . Dr. Myles sent her to Flint MI to assist
covenant Pastor Henry Horton . The next few years of her life began to prepare
her and the families that traveled with her to Flint for a church , Covenant Believers Church Intl .
In 2007 Apostle Appleberry was ordained by an apostolic team spearheaded by Apostle / Dr . Rita Johnson of Ypsilanti , MI and Bishop Michael Densmore of Bridgeport , CT .
2008 to the present , Apostle Sandra Appleberry submitted her life and ministries under the leadership of Archbishop Mark Du Boise of Judah International in Mackinaw , IL .
Apostle Appleberry was fierce in her dedication and commitment to advocate for healing and deliverance of all who she spoke life over . She will be missed by all who loved and adored her .
She would often say ,
' It's nice to be nice, but it's great to be loved '
Sandra Marie Atkins Appleberry departed this earthly life for eternal glory on
Monday March 6 , 2023. Sandra leaves to cherish her memories two children ; Leonard (Lakisha ) Eskridge and Latasha Monique ( Aaron ) August . Three sisters ; Regina (Ray ) Muse , Andrea ( Joseph ) Davis of Cedar Hill , TX and Patricia ( Marc ) Allen . Six brothers ; Ronald Morris , Sebastian Atkins of Atlanta , GA , Gregory Grant , Kenneth Johnson of DeSoto , TX and Matthew Atkins of Winfield , KS .
8 Grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren . A host of nieces , nephews , cousins , spiritual children and other extended family and friends .
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents , Joseph Atkins and Gertrude Brumfield Bailey . Her step - dad Tommie Lee Bailey . Her uncle and aunt Rev. Richard and Thelma Brumfield .
