Albertha "Poochie" Holden Walker was born on July 16, 1950 at Lallie Kemp Charity Hospital in Independence, Louisiana to the late Sam Holden, Sr. and Claudette Foster Holden. She gained her wings on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at her residence.
Albertha was a proud member of the West Side High Class of 1969. She married Robert Lee Walker in 1971 and moved to New Orleans for a few years. After returning to the country, she worked at Louisiana Hatchery which is now Sanderson Farms. When she retired from Sanderson Farms, she began a new career at Landmark Nursing Home in Hammond, LA. At the young age of 65, she bid them goodbye and see you later.

Holden (Shaneiqua) of Independence, LA; sister Beverly Holden Ramsey of Abita Springs, LA; brother Sam Holden, Jr. of Independence, LA; aunt Veenie English of Independence, LA; 4 great-grandchildren-James, III, Kaelyn and Jaden Holden and Malik Brown; 2 special cousins Sharren Wells of Alexandria, LA; and Phyllis Clay-Brown (Jameson) of Independence, LA; bonus daughter Mary Perkins of Amite, LA; bonus sons – Len Johnson (Miranda) of Amite, LA and James King (Danielle) of Harvey, LA; former husband Robert Walker (Helen) of Independence, LA and a host of many, many nieces, nephews , cousins, in-laws and friends.
Albertha "Poochie" Holden Walker was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Claudette Foster Holden, maternal and paternal grandparents, sisters Patricia Rucker, Audrey Mae Jackson and Joann Holden, brother Leon Holden, Sr.; aunts Josephine Hughes, Murlene Davis, uncles Arthur Cannon, Albert Foster, W.C. Foster, Louis Mack, Jr., and B.J. Mack and best friend Rosemary Pennington.
